Sapori Cantuccini: the sweet tradition from Siena

In 1832, an artisan bakery was founded in Siena by Virgilio Sapori. In this bakery, artisanal almond cookies were made from the very beginning according to a traditional Tuscan recipe. For 200 years, Sapori has maintained the traditions of making Tuscan patisserie, producing Panforte and Cantuccini, among others. Cantuccini is one of the most famous of these.

Cantuccini are typical Italian almond cookies, originating from Tuscany. Sapori Cantuccini is made from fresh milk, fresh eggs and whole almonds. Like rusks, Cantuccini are baked twice, which makes the biscuit extra crunchy. The indispensable taste of fresh ingredients and whole almonds, together with the irresistible aroma of vanilla and citrus fruits, the slanted cut and the 2 times baking make for this tempting cookie.

These delicious almond cookies are a treat with coffee, but also great to use as an ingredient in desserts such as Tiramisu. Sapori Cantuccini alla Mandorla is available through GranFood in bags of 175g and 800g. In addition to Cantuccini, the range in the Netherlands includes Amaretti Morbidi, a deliciously soft almond biscuit.
